Hi there!

Here’s a little bit about how I fell in love with loneliness as a topic—and how this newsletter first emerged. If you’re curious to know, read on.

For the past five years, I helped build the platform and community of the House of Beautiful Business, a global network for the life-centered economy. In leading curation, content, and community, and helping to create transformative spaces of changing minds and hearts, I felt called to explore “the other” side of community—which led me to loneliness. You can read more about my why here.

Since the pandemic, loneliness has gained recognition as a pressing issue, with designated ministers for loneliness in countries like the U.K. and the U.S. The Surgeon General introduced the term "loneliness epidemic" to public discourse, and the World Health Organization identified loneliness as a global health concern. Current global estimations indicate that 1 in 4 older adults experience social isolation, and between 5 and 15 percent of adolescents report feelings of loneliness.

With this newsletter, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding and discussion of loneliness beyond a health issue—and its relations to societies, economies, and politics within a hyper-individualistic, neoliberal culture.

So if you’re keen to learn along with me and join the conversation, here are some of the ways you can do so:
